Europe’s southernmost ski slopes get first snow
After record temperatures and extended heat waves this summer, Spain has received its first snowfall earlier than expected on its highest ski fields in the Sierra Nevada.
The mountain range, near the Andalucian city of Granada, hosts Europe’s most southerly ski resort and doesn’t usually open until late November-early December. The Sierra Nevada includes Spain’s highest mountains, up to 3300m. Read more: thelocal.es
