Ethiopia to grade all hotels to encourage tourism

Ethiopia has signed an agreement with the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) to implement a classification and grading system for more than 600 of the country’s hotels. The manager of the Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism and Development Project noted that hotel grading is important for tourists, tour operators, travel agents and Ethiopia’s hotel industry. The project, which will cost over twelve million Birr (US$600,000), will be financed by the World Bank and is scheduled to start immediately. Read more:
