Emergency landing in Munich as aircraft wing punctured by tyre pieces
An Air Berlin flight from Düsseldorf, Germany, to Kos in Greece, was forced to make an emergency landing in Munich on Monday after pieces of a tyre broke off and punctured a hole in one of its wings.
A similar incident caused an Air France Concorde plane to crash in July 2000, although fortunately, in Monday's incident, no damage was caused to the fuel tanks or hydraulics systems.
