Dushanbe closes all markets until Independence Day after attacks
The capital city of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, has closed all of its markets due to safety concerns after several attacks on the city.
Around 30 police officers were killed in an armed gang attack on Friday, and an undisclosed number were killed or injured during an attack on a security checkpoint on Saturday. City authorities have said that all markets, including produce and clothing markets, will remain closed until the ninth of September, when the country celebrates its Independence Day.
