Dublin overrun by 'Vikings' as thousands turn up for ‘extra’ roles

Ireland's search for 8000 extra actors for the television series, 'Vikings,’ meant that part of Dublin was besieged by a large crowd waiting for auditions yesterday.

And the makers of the hit series on the History Channel expect a similar scene when they audition in  Wicklow today.

Newstalk Radio reported that the producers got an inkling of what might happen when their recent call for actors in the next series, due to be filmed later this year, drew a massive online response.

Passersby in the Temple Bar area of Dublin looked on in bemusement at the thousands of would-be Vikings queuing patiently for an audition for the hit TV show.
