Drunk, stranded, asleep: misbehaving Brit rescued from Malaga bridge
A 40-year-old British tourist has been rescued by the fire brigade after falling asleep on top of a famous bridge in Malaga, Spain.
The man decided to climb the archways of Malaga’s Puente de los Alemanes on Saturday night while drunk and then promptly fell asleep in a precarious position atop the bridge; social media pictures show the man lying passed out lengthways along a narrow archway above the bridge’s footpath. Misbehaving British tourists have been a persistent blight on some of Spain’s Mediterranean resorts for decades, so much so that this summer Spanish authorities brought in British police to patrol two of its most problematic resorts - Magaluf in Mallorca and Sant Antoni in Ibiza.
