Dogs now allowed in outdoor areas of New York restaurants

A new law was signed last night by Governor Cuomo that allows dogs in New York State to dine with their owners in outdoor areas of restaurants, with immediate effect.

The dining-with-dogs law is popular among animal lovers, although NYC mayor Bill de Blasio was opposed to the change in the law, citing health reasons. Restaurant owners will now have the ability to decide if they want to allow dogs in the outdoor areas of their establishments, so check with the restaurant for their pet policy before bringing your dog to dinner.
