Demonstrations in New York not affecting tourism

December is one of the busiest months for tourism in New York as visitors flock to see the Rockefeller tree, go shopping in Macy’s, and go ice-skating in Central Park. For the past few days, however, foreigners have been seeing a different side to the city as dozens of protests against police violence have been taking place around town. According to Tim Tompkins, head of the Times Square Alliance, the events do not seem to be affecting tourism and visitors are not complaining about the protests. Many in fact are enjoying taking photographs and some have even joined in the demonstrations. Read more:
