Delhi government says no to CCTV in dance bars
The Supreme Court in Delhi has ruled against a proposal to crack down on dance bars in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Amongst other proposals, the state government had planned to install a direct video feed from licensed dance bars to the nearest police station, and the construction of a three foot wall dividing dancers from patrons. The crackdown on dance bars was just the latest in a string of moral policies introduced by hardline Hindu groups in the state parliament.
