Deep-fried Mars bar’s birthplace in banner battle
A Scottish chip shop that claims to have invented the deep-fried Mars Bar has been ordered to remove a promotional banner. Aberdeenshire Council told the Carron Fish Bar in Stonehaven that it must be taken down as part of a plan to smarten up businesses premises in the town.

The banner describes the chip shop as the ‘Birthplace of the world famous deep-fried Mars bar’ and owner Lorraine Watson says that ‘thousands and thousands’ of tourists come each year to eat the iconic sugary snack. Read more: bbc.co.uk
