There's a dating website that encourages people to travel together to see the world
Dating websites have proven to be a rapidly expanding industry in recent years, with new varieties that cater to unique groups with diverse interests constantly popping up. One such example is MissTravel, the world’s first dating website specifically targeting travellers with an urge to see the world.
Founded in 2012 by MIT alum, Brandon Wade, the website boasts 600,000 members in over 135 countries around the world. The unique selling point of the site is its travel-centric ethos, with singles travelling to sometimes far off locations with strangers, in the hope of finding romance. Users are able to choose different trip packages and payment options for each journey. The “Travel With Me” trip encourages users to meet up and travel to a destination together, while, “Come To Me” and “Show Me Your Town” are designed to make international meet-ups easier. Travel expenses can be paid for by one party or split in half, depending on the situation. Users can register the trips that they are interested in under the categories like romance, foodie, luxury, adventure or local. Use of the site is free for female members, while a membership for male users costs $39.99 per month.

Users must be over 18 years of age and are expected to fully complete their profiles and use a registered picture before logging onto the site. Membership can be renewed on the basis of one, three or six months. A mobile app version of the site launched last year and is available for free on GooglePlay and the Apple store.
