Dancers take to the streets of Buenos Aires for tango festival

Thousands of locals, tourists and professional tango dancers came together on Saturday for the annual Gran Milonga Nacional, or Tango Music Festival, in Buenos Aires. The event, which has taken place every year since 2005, closed six blocks on Avenida de Mayo in the city centre. The tango began in the working class neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires in the 1890s and has roots in African and European cultures. Usually danced indoors in 'milongas', the tango appeals to people of all ages and backgrounds. Read more: bbc.com
