Cyclist uses Google Maps and Street View to make art
A cyclist has created doodles the size of city blocks using GPS to map his route. Dubbed “Cycleangelo,” Stephen Lund uses the bike lanes of Victoria, BC, to create his gigantic doodles in the shape of mermaids, animals and Darth Vader.
Some of his city-sized artwork covers areas larger than 100 sq km, requiring extensive planning. Lund says he uses Google Maps and Street View to write meticulous directions, all the way down to instructions like turn “at this fire hydrant three quarters of the way up the block.” Read more: thestar.com
