Costa Rica gears up for giant Palmares fiesta

Festival highlights include Costa Rican-style bullfights, where instead of killing the bulls dozens of people jump in the ring with them, an impressive tope (horse parade) attended by thousands of cowboys dressed in riding finery, a programme of concerts headlined this year by Puerto Rican reggae band Cultura Profética, and beer put on by Costa Rican beer label Imperial.
