Copenhagen to build 65-metre-high cycle bridge
Another new bridge is set to be built to cater for cyclists and pedestrians in Copenhagen.
The 65-metre-high cycle path and walkway over the water at Nordhavn has been nicknamed Copenhagen Gate, and has been designed to accommodate the huge cruise ships which must pass under it. Originally approved in 2008, construction on the bridge had to be put on hold due to the financial crisis at the time, but work will now begin no later than 2017. Some have called the bridge's practicality into question, since cyclists and pedestrians will have to use elevators on either side to be able to cross it. Read more: thelocal.dk
