Concerns over potentially explosive dead whale on French beach

Authorities are concerned over the possibility that a dead whale that washed up on a beach in southern France near Montpellier may explode. Due to the heat, gasses have been forming in the carcass which may cause it to explode and authorities are trying to work out how to safely dispose of the animal. The area around the whale has been blocked off to prevent people approaching it. Read more:
