The funniest animal photos in the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards

A series of hilarious photos showing wildlife in some of its least flattering forms have been collected together in a book Comedy Wildlife Awards by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam.

Author Tom Sullam says there’s a far more serious reason for the creation of the Comedy Wildlife Awards. “Living in a country that has some of the best wildlife in the world - Tanzania - and seeing how destructive human actions can be on this wildlife, made us want to do our little bit to help,” he said.

“Raising awareness through photography, getting people involved and using humour as a positive reinforcement of the good things, rather than focusing on the negative imagery that has historically been used - which does have its place in the fight to raise awareness.

“There was a need for a photography competition that was light-hearted, upbeat, possibly unpretentious and mainly about wildlife doing funny things.  After its first year, these objectives seem to have been met. Secondly, and way more importantly, this competition is about conservation.”

Details of the book can be found here.
