Civil War–era coins uncovered in Denmark
A group of metal detectorists in Jutland, Denmark, have discovered a hoard of coins dating back to the Danish Civil War.
The coins, thought to be around 700 years old, were found in a field south of Foulum, at the site of an archaeological dig. They have a low silver content and are of poor quality, indicating the instability of the period. Once they have been cleaned, the coinage will go on display at Viborg Museum.
