Circus elephants cause mayhem in Denmark
Three circus elephants caused mayhem in the seaside town of Karrebæksminde, Denmark, after they were allegedly beaten by their trainer and subsequently went on the rampage.
As part of an annual tradition, the elephants had been led to the sea to cool down in the water and eyewitnesses reported that the elephants 'became agitated' after their trainer beat them. In their stressed state, they caused significant damage to cars, and one woman was injured after being knocked to the ground.
