China's new Yuntai Mountain glass bridge cracks after two weeks

China’s brand-new glass walkway in the Yuntai Mountains has been closed after several of the glass panels were discovered to be cracked.

One witness reports on Chinese social media site Weibo that he heard a loud thud and felt vibrations travelling down the bridge only to find the glass panels below his feet had broken. Park officials reported that all tourists were evacuated safely and that the cause could be attributed to a tourist dropping a steel cup on the bridge. As of yet it remains unclear when the bridge will reopen fully. Read more:
