Cars dragged into the sea by huge waves in Malta

Lonely Planet WriterStrong winds in Malta have whipped up huge waves at Cirkewwa, which is the departure point for ferries to Gozo at the far north end of the main island.

Three cars that had been left in the car park at Cirkewwa Quay were washed into Paradise Bay, whilst other cars in the car park were tossed around and smashed into each other by the huge waves. The car owners watched on helplessly, but the Civil Protection Department did manage to tow some cars to safety. Read more and watch the video: timesofmalta.com
