British hiker’s body uncovered in Mallorca after eight year mystery

The remains of a British woman have been discovered on the Balearic island of Mallorca, Spain,  eight years after she went missing.

Jacqueline Tennant disappeared without trace during a hike in the Tramontana mountain range in northeast Mallorca in 2007. She was ex-RAF, working at a resort on the island, and was described as a passionate walker. Her remains and a backpack containing identity documents were discovered by another walker in a remote area of the mountain range, 90 minutes off the pathway through the mountains between Lluc and Pollenca.
