Boat collision on the Nile kills 21, six still missing

A collision between a cargo boat and a ferry on the Nile, north of Cairo has left 21 dead, with six people still missing after an overnight search.

The ferry had been chartered for an engagement party, and it is not yet clear if the couple are among those killed. Police announced that the cargo ship captain had been arrested after the accident. Many such accidents occur on the Nile and off Egypt’s coast each year. Read more: theguardian.com
