'Berlin says thanks' with free museum entry
As a gesture of thanks to Berlin's residents for their part in the biggest refugee relief drive since WWII, the city's parliament voted on Thursday to offer free entry to attractions including museums and theatres on 31 January.
It's not yet known if the event, called 'Berlin Says Thanks', will be free for everyone, or just Berlin residents. The feel-good announcement comes as the government faces increasing pressure over their handling of the refugee crisis, and the resignation on Wednesday of Franz Allert, the head of Berlin's primary refugee registration centre.
