Belarus suggests Minsk to be airline hub for Eastern Europe
Since direct flights between Russia and Ukraine have been suspended, Belarusian authorities have announced that their national airline Belavia and Minsk National Airport are ready to service transit passengers from the two Eastern European countries.
Both Belavia and Ukraine International Airlines currently have 14 flights per week between Kyiv and Minsk, and Belavia has opened a new route to Odesa as well. Belavia also operates seven daily flights to Moscow and three daily flights to St Petersburg, while Russian national airline Aeroflot has five daily flights to Minsk from Moscow.
