The James Beard Awards, America’s most prestigious food industry awards, were held outside New York for the first time on Monday night, but it was still Manhattan’s own that took the top spot. Bâtard, the Tribeca restaurant owned by Drew Nieporent and chef Markus Glocker, was named the best new restaurant in the United States.
