Bali resort comes under fire for ‘inhumane’ treatment of dolphins

A Bali resort has been accused of animal cruelty after a video of two dolphins bobbing lifelessly in a small pool went viral.

The dolphins are held captive in the resort’s small, shallow pool where tourists can pay to swim with them and watch them perform tricks. An online petition, launched in May by an Australian surfer pressuring Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment and Forestry to have the dolphins freed, has garnered almost 250,000 signatures. Read more:
