Aussie tourist in Thailand attempts bank robbery ‘to pay for flight home’
A 23-year-old Australian man caught after holding up a Thai bank with a BB gun on Monday was allegedly hoping to pay for his flight home.
Zachary Cronin demanded tellers at the bank on the outskirts of Bangkok to hand over 170,000 baht (US$4,800) before being caught by a security guard and an off-duty police officer at the scene who gave chase. Cronin reportedly told police that he had spent all his money during a month-long stay in Bangkok’s red-light district. Read more: smh.com.au
