Auschwitz-Birkenau museum defends mist sprinklers

Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial & Museum in Poland has defended its decision to install 'mist showers' close to its entrance, after a visitor complained that they were reminiscent of the showers that prisoners were forced to take before they were taken to the gas chambers.

A spokesperson from the museum said that the sprinklers had been installed to help visitors to cool down during the recent heatwave and that they did not look like showers. Read more:
