At least six hikers killed after being caught in Java forest fire

Six hikers, and possibly a seventh, have died after being caught in a forest fire on a mountain in Java on Sunday.

It’s thought the group hikers, two of which reportedly remain in a critical condition, used unofficial routes to access Mount Lawu, which was closed for hiking due to wildfires in the region. Local reports indicate the dead and injured had been brought down from the mountain, with rescuers still checking for others who might still be stuck on it. Read more: bbc.co.uk
