Art Basel Miami to open with $3 billion of art for sale

With works by the likes of Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder and Sigmar Polke up for sale, the Art Basel Miami art fair, which opens to VIP guests tomorrow, promises to be a bumper year for sales. In total $3 billion worth of art will be auctioned at the fair, which is the largest contemporary art fair in the US hosting 267 galleries and representing 4000 artists. The fair will be held at the Miami Beach Convention Center and is open to the public from 4 to 7 December. Read more:
