Arson suspected in fires along popular Vancouver trail

The fire department of North Vancouver is investigating a series of brush fires that seem to have been deliberately set along the Hastings Creek Trail.

According to officials, the fires were caused by humans, citing paper and beer cans found in the vicinity of the fires, and the fires have spread to areas ‘fairly close to some homes’. There are currently no suspects, but investigators ask residents to remain vigilant.

In British Columbia alone, there are 195 active fires and eight evacuation alerts in effect. Read more:
