Rome's mayor pushes ahead with pedestrianisation programme

Rome’s mayor Ignazio Marino has continued his push to pedestrianise many popular parts of the city centre, adding Piazza del Popolo and the ‘trident’ of streets extending south of it (Via di Ripetta, Via del Corso and Via del Babuino) to the growing list of areas where cars are banned during the day. Marion, who is an avid cyclist, has hinted that his next target is the area around the Palatine Hill and Circus Maximus. Read more:
