Archaeologists unearth mass graves under Paris supermarket

Experts were called in to the Monoprix supermarket in the 2nd arrondissement in Paris after mass graves were found underneath the building. The discovery was made by builders inspecting the site (a former hospital) as the supermarket planned to expand its cellar for extra storage. So far, around 200 skeletons have been discovered packed closely together, which archaeologists believe could suggest that they died of an epidemic such as the plague. Read more:
