Animal rescuers fail to free humpback whales

Animal rescuers are still searching for two humpback whales that were spotted tangled in rope off the coast of Nova Scotia.

The whales were spotted last week and a rescue was attempted when two fisheries officers tried to untangle the whales, but the animals didn’t cooperate. Rescuers are worried that the ropes could dig into the animals’ skin and cause infections. Read more: cbc.ca
