Ancient warrior’s tomb and treasure discovered in Greece
Archaeologists have discovered a tomb of an ancient warrior on the site of the Mycenaean-era Nestor’s Palace in the Peloponnese.
The tomb is estimated to be 3500 years old and contains a large treasure including gold jewellery, silver vases, ivory combs, a bronze sword with a gold and ivory handle and more. The jewellery decorations are in the style of the Minoan civilisation, which preceded the Mycenaeans. According to the Greek Ministry of Culture, this is the most significant archaeological discovery in the last 65 years. Read more: theguardian.com
