With many people already planning their upcoming adventures for the new year, AirBnB has revealed 17 top trending neighbourhoods in cities around the world to watch for in 2017.
Based on the travel patterns of more than 140 million total guest arrivals, at three million homes on Airbnb, this year’s trending neighbourhoods have proven to be an eclectic mix of fast-emerging hot-spots. Topping the list was Milneburg in New Orleans, which showed a 1500% growth of inbound guest arrivals since 2015, while Kampung Baru in Kuala Lumpur came in second with a growth of 976%. Some common patterns emerged throughout the top choices, with the results showing that travellers were attracted to laid-back urban communities that were close to the action without being too dense. Other trends that stood out throughout the top choices, were the abundance of green spaces in the most popular areas, as well as the fact that people seemed to favour staying in places with lots of food choices.
