Japanese whisky best in the world for the first time

A single malt whisky from the Yamazaki distillery, near Kyoto, has been named by the Whisky World Bible as the best in the world – the first time a Japanese whisky has been awarded top spot by the prestigious whisky guide. According to the guide, Suntory’s Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 is ‘near indescribable genius’. Meanwhile, no Scottish whiskies made the top five. Read more: theguardian.com
