Check out the incredible Beverly Hills Airbnb where Marnie the Dog stayed
Prepare to be jealous of a pooch – social media sensation Marnie the Dog stayed in an opulent Airbnb in Beverly Hills to promote the home-rental site’s pet-friendly listings.
Marnie – a 14-year-old rescued Shih Tzu who has become an adorable internet celebrity – stayed in the incredible pad to celebrate National Dog Week, which ran from 19 to 25 September.
The pup has recently moved from New York to LA along with her owners. Airbnb documented her stay in an incredibly fancy – and pet-friendly – rental home.
The three-storey, eight-bedroom home included an incredible yard and a pool for Marnie to hang out in, where she was welcomed by hosts Teddy the Dog and Hugo the Butler, according to Airbnb.
As Marnie was adopted as a senior dog at 11-years-old, Airbnb also made a donation to San Francisco-based charity, Muttville, “which strives to change the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs and to create better lives for them through rescue, foster, adoption and hospice”.
As more and more travellers hit the road with their dogs, Airbnb is raising awareness about its pet-friendly rentals. According to the company, there are more than 600,000 homes on Airbnb worldwide that are opening to travellers bringing their pets.
When it comes to what countries are most-welcoming of furry tourists on Airbnb, Italy came out on top with nearly 110,000 pet-friendly homes, followed by the US, with 92,000. In America, West Virginia is the most pet-friendly state, with 40% of listings open to animals, and Ocean Spring, Mississippi is the top city, as 70% of listings welcome pets.
