101 year-old gets free breakfast in New Hampshire and a $0.07 refund
To have lived to 101 years of age is surely worth something, and in Manchester, New Hampshire the good things come in the form of free breakfast and even a refund for one centenarian.
101 year-old Joseph Nelson visited the Belmont Restaurant which is famous for rewarding customers dining on their birthday with a discount based on their age. If you’re turning 24 you get 24% off the total bill, if you’re turning 99 you get 99% of your bill.
That meant that at 101,he not only got a plate of free scrambled eggs, ham, and a piece of chocolate cake, but he also was given $0.07 back!
Speaking to local TV station WMUR, the WWII veteran said he never thought he’d reach such an age.
"I put all my faith in God and I think that all of my life, every decision I've made in my 100 years, I think God made it for me," he said.
