Armenian in Gyumri

In an historic building opposite the beer factory, this popular place prepares a mix of Armenian and Georgian dishes – kalla, stodgy khinkali (spicy meat dumplings), khashlama (beef and potato stew) and kebabs are popular. Seating is in wooden cubicles, but many locals prefer to sit around the bar swilling beer (Gyumri, of course) chased with potent shots of oghee.
