Discover the south of Armenia, unveil Tatev Monastery, Goris town and Khndzoresk.
In the morning your guide will be waiting for you at your hotel in order to leave for the heart of Southern Armenia, the town of Goris. We will discover its traditional character and many sites of interest. In the afternoon we will arrive in the heavenly spot named "Tatevi Anapat", which used to be Tatev monastery’s annex and former defensive seminary. Later we will walk towards medieval Tatev monastery, which is located above the Vorotan Canyon. As we reach the monastery of Tatev, we will be stunned by the architectural treasure of the tenth century. We will descend to Satan's bridge and will reveal the natural pools of warm water. At the end of the day, we will settle in a comfortable guesthouse in Goris, where we will have an enjoyable end of the day. The second day will be devoted to Goris. We will take a stroll through the town and get acquainted with its traditions, joyful life, troubadours and poets. You will be amazed by its rustic character, the spirit of resistance of its inhabitants and its fairy chimneys constructed over a century ago. In the afternoon we will discover St Hripsime chapel and hike up to the "Lasti Khot" hill where a fabulous panorama will gratify us. After lunch, we will reach the old village of Khndzoresk, its swinging bridge, a medieval chapel, and its ageless cave-houses. Later, we will return to Yerevan, but on our way, we will stop at Karahunj, the observatory of megalithic stones, which is older than Stonehenge. After three hours we will reveal monastery of Khor Virap, where a perfect view of Mount Ararat will become a real gift. In the evening you will be accompanied back to your hotel in Yerevan.
