Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrano
If you’re in the Sierras around the start of October, consider hitting Villa General Belgrano, which celebrates its German heritage with a 10-day, nationally recognized Oktoberfest. While the beer runs as freely as it does at Oktoberfests all over the world, there are also parades, endless concerts and other cultural presentations. The festival also features so much delicious street food that you’ll be loosening a couple of buttons on your lederhosen, even if you’re not a drinker.

On the lodging front, the Central Sierras have it all: boutique hotels, idyllic mountain cabins, funky hostels and a small but excellent selection of historic estancias (ranches) that range from rustic little getaways to sprawling, atmospheric properties.
You won't be strapped for dining choices in the Central Sierras. From parrillas (steak houses) serving top-rate meats to German-inspired eateries, the crop of restaurants in the region matches its popularity as a tourism hotspot.
