Air

Río Gallegos’ Piloto Civil Norberto Fernández International Airport is 7km northwest of town. New low-cost airlines plan to offer routes to Buenos Aires, El Calafate and Comodoro Rivadavia. Aviación Civil Argentina (ANAC; www.anac.gob.ar) has a map with new routes and airlines.

Aerolíneas Argentinas flies daily to Buenos Aires (AR$2900 oneway) and frequently to Ushuaia (AR$7027). LADE flies several times a week to Buenos Aires, Río Grande, El Calafate, Comodoro Rivadavia and Ushuaia. LATAM has a ticket counter at the airport.

Bus

Río Gallegos’ bus terminal is about 3km southwest of the city center. Companies include El Pingüino, Don Otto, Bus Sur, Andesmar, Sportman and TAC. Companies going to Chile include Ghisoni, Pacheco and Tecni-Austral. Taqsa/Marga beelines straight from the airport to Puerto Natales and El Calafate.
