Getting There & Away

The bus terminal is 1km from downtown. There are services to Buenos Aires (AR$775 to AR$1080, eight to nine hours), Posadas (AR$417 to AR$440, five to six hours) and Corrientes (AR$430, five hours) via Mercedes (AR$118, three hours).

Buses to Uruguaiana (AR$25), Brazil, leave frequently, stopping on Av San Martín at Colón and opposite the bus terminal (by the castle-like building). Get off to complete migration formalities and get on the same bus to continue on to the bus terminal.

The frontier is open 24 hours. Travelers have reported that you can transit to Uruguay without requiring a Brazilian visa here, but don't bank on it.
