Arriving in Destination
Francisco Gabrielli International Airport is 6km north of downtown on RN 40. Newly renovated, it's an efficent and comfortable welcome to the city. Flights, especially from Santiago, afford spectacular views of the mountains. There's an ATM, but no exchange office; the gift shop sells – what else – wine.
Bus 68 (‘Aeropuerto’) from Calle Salta goes straight to the terminal. Taxis cost AR$175; drivers accept US dollars as well.
Mendoza’s bus terminal is really just across the street from downtown. After arriving, walk under the Videla underpass and you’ll be heading toward the center, about 15 minutes away. Otherwise, the ‘Villa Nueva’ trolley (actually a bus) connects the terminal with downtown.
