Welcome to Las Leñas
This is a big mountain, with some of the best off-piste skiing on the continent. However, its remoteness and high accommodations costs are obstacles to those without very deep pockets. Think of it as the Aspen of Argentina. Despite its old, rickety lifts, Las Leñas is the country's most self-consciously prestigious ski resort. Since its opening in 1983 it has attracted an international clientele, who spend their days on the slopes and nights partying until the sun comes up. Because of the dry climate, Las Leñas has incredibly dry powder.
Las Leñas is 445km south of Mendoza and 70km from Malargüe, all via RN 40 and RP 222.
