Getting There & Away
Córdoba makes an excellent stop if you’re heading south or southwest toward Mendoza. The city has bus connections throughout the country.
The towns throughout the Central Sierras are all easily accessible by public transportation, but many tiny remote towns and Jesuit estancias (ranches) can only be reached with your own wheels. The region's dense network of roads, many well paved but others only gravel, make them good candidates for bicycle touring; Argentine drivers here seem a bit less ruthless than elsewhere in the country. A mountain bike is still the best choice.
