Strolling around the riverbank, the beach and quiet leafy streets is the highlight here. Numerous artesanía shops sell everything from mate gourds to pickled coypu (rodent).
There are numerous summer campgrounds, cabins, bungalows and apartments available for rent. Look for signs saying 'Alquilo a turistas.' The tourist office can supply you with a list of official accommodations: there are several hundred.
Colón has an excellent selection of places to eat. Hit Urquiza for traditional Argentine options.
Drinking & Nightlife
During low season there is no nightlife at all here but once the crowds of porteños arrive several bars and discos in the blocks around the plaza get busy.
