A short walk from Cachi’s plaza brings you to a viewpoint, then a picturesque hilltop cemetery; nearby is an unlikely airstrip.

A handful of unremarkable archaeological sites dotted around the valley make destinations for hikes or drives with views. There's a winery in town, and others within easy driving distance.

Many locals rent horses for horseback riding; look for signs or ask at the tourist office.

There are some dynamite hotels and inns in and around Cachi, which only makes the place even more inviting.

Local eateries in the streets near the plaza do no-frills traditional plates, but there are some standouts.

Drinking & Nightlife

Oliver, a tasty restaurant and wine bar on the plaza can attract a friendly, boozy crowd, day and night.
